Background

In his current position Gerardo defines research strategies for developing well and subsea technologies and manages the research, development and deployment of the various offshore technologies produced by CSIRO Petroleum Resources.

Prior to joining CSIRO in 2005, Gerardo was a Senior Advisor for New Technologies with Copyrca, and worked with Intevep, the research and development affiliate of Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) in Venezuela.  Over the 14 years he was with Intevep he had a number of roles which also included business development.

Gerardo has published a combination of 25 technical reports and papers in a broad range of areas from fuel formation and processing to scale up procedures. He has been involved in the patenting of six technologies with two more pending. In addition he has supervised three undergraduate theses, a Masters thesis and has previously been the industrial supervisor of two Docotoral students.
