Early Life Equipment Failures 

Background

After completing her degree in Metallurgy and Science of Materials at Oxford University, Melinda worked for the Consolidated Gold Fields Group in London, NW Australia and in the US.  She joined Barrick in Nevada where she held positions as Senior Process Engineer and Senior Maintenance Engineer.  Since completing her PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Melinda has been lecturing in The School of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Western Australia.  Melinda has extensive undergraduate teaching experience and has supervised a number of asset management research projects with oil and gas companies, utility and mining groups.  She is the Discipline Group Leader for the Engineering Asset Management Postgraduate and Research Program, sits on the Research Committee of the National CRC for Engineering Asset Management and is Project Leader for a range of industry-funded project work in Asset Management.
